Pray. Why bother?
I am currently reading a book by Timothy Keller entitled Prayer. Here are excerpts which should encourage you:
Prayer is the way to sense and appropriate this access and fatherly love, and to experience the calm and strength in one’s life that results from such assurance of being cared for (p. 70).
- It calms
- It strengthens
- It assures us of His love
- It assures us of His presence
Why bother to pray when it appears that circumstances aren’t going well?
Prayer is the way to experience a powerful confidence that God is handling our lives well, that our bad things will turn out for good, our good things cannot be taken from us, and the best things are yet to come (p. 73).
Don’t lose heart.
